TALLINN: Finally, the 93rd Academy of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences award goes to “The Last Ones,” an Estonian/Finnish/Dutch co-production and directed by Veiko Ounpuu selects as Estonia’s candidate in the category of the best international feature film.
However, the new update is that the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony will be held on 25 April 2021. A committee team appointed especially by the Estonian Film Institute so that they can choose The Last Ones.
Therefore, it will screen on 13-29 November 2020, in the Baltic Competition program, held at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
Plot: The Last Ones:
The Last Ones successfully holds a place in a mining village in the Lapland tundra, follows so many tensions between local minors and reindeer herders. Therefore, Rupi (Pääru Oja), a tough and brave young miner, separated from his family. Moreover, in the story, Rupi suddenly starts to love his friend’s wife.

He said that The Last Ones basically look like a “Western-like Northern film based on a crime, love, and revenge.
The film also describes the moral erosion that starts to happen when the Industrial Revolution starts over-taking people and places whose lives were previously accommodated to nature.”
Production Of The Film:
The film “The Last Ones” produced by the great and very famous producer, Estonia’s Homeless Bob Production OÜ. Also, it is co-produced by Finland’s Bufo and the Netherland’s PRPL.
This film already received so much positive support from the Cultural Endowment of Estonia, the Estonian Film Institute, Yle, Finnish Film Foundation, and Lapland Film Commission along with the Creative European Media.
